World's Best Restaurant

The S. Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards 2010 was held on Monday 26th April at the historic Guildhall in the City of London, in the company of the world’s finest chefs, international media and the most influential restaurateurs.

Noma, Copenhagen has been crowned the number one best restaurant in the world and it achieved the unthinkable, unseating Ferran Adria's El Bulli from the top spot.

Jeffersons were ahead of the game and flew a group of eight clients to Copenhagen for this gastronomic experience in February. Reclined in luxury leather seats, sipping chilled champagne and soaring over the North Sea was the most relaxing start to the group’s culinary adventure.

On arrival in Kastrup airport our clients where whisked away in private limousines and checked into the luxury of the D’Angleterre hotel.

Even with Noma’s phenomenal reputation, Jeffersons was able to make the reservation for the group of eight and secure them a prime table in the restaurant.

Noma’s claim is to be a homage to soil and sea, an intended reminder of the source of our food. Their starter was a good example: crunchy baby carrots from the Lammefjorden region of Denmark, served with edible “soil” made from malt, hazelnuts and beer, with a cream herb emulsion beneath. The rest of the menu consisted of Nordic gourmet cuisine, using traditional methods of cooking.
